Toni-Ré Britton didn’t just join the Rotary Club of Central Port of Spain (RCCPOS)- she came home.

Appointed Youth Service Director in 2024, Britton’s journey into Rotary leadership feels less like a new chapter and more like a natural continuation of a story already in motion.

A former member of the Rotaract Club of Central Port of Spain, she carries forward a deep-rooted connection to service, leadership, and community that has long defined her path. “It was only right that I stay in the RCCPOS family,” she says, sharing a sentiment that speaks not just to loyalty, but to belonging.

That sense of continuity was reinforced by the encouragement of Past President Tanya Western, whose mentorship helped guide Britton’s transition into Rotary. It’s a reminder that leadership within RCCPOS is often cultivated through relationships, trust, and the quiet influence of those who recognise potential before it fully blooms.

Britton’s first official role, Youth Service Committee Chair, seems almost preordained. Her passion for youth development, combined with her academic and professional background, positions her uniquely to shape the next generation of leaders. Armed with an MSc and Postgraduate Diploma in Mediation Studies, along with a BSc in Sociology, she brings both analytical depth and emotional intelligence to the role. Professionally, she serves as a Benefits Coordinator, a position that further sharpens her organisational and people-centered skills.

Yet, beyond the credentials and titles, it is Britton’s authenticity that leaves a lasting impression.

Her first official Rotary event, the club’s handing-over ceremony, was a milestone marked by both nerves and joy. “I was a little nervous,” she admits, “but having my friends from Rotaract and supportive Rotarians there to celebrate the moment made it truly special.” It was, in many ways, a symbolic passing of the torch surrounded by the very community that helped shape her.

As Youth Service Director, Britton steps into a role that demands vision, empathy, and energy. Youth service is not simply about organising programmes; it is about inspiring purpose, nurturing leadership, and creating spaces where young people feel seen and empowered. Britton understands this deeply, and her approach reflects a balance of structure and heart.

Ask her what people might not know about her, and her answer is disarmingly simple: “Jesus is my homie.” It’s a glimpse into the personal faith that grounds her in her values and worldview, quiet but firm. 

And when it comes to RCCPOS, her affection is unmistakable. “It feels like home,” she says. In an organisation built on service above self, that sense of home is what transforms commitment into passion.

At the core of Britton’s philosophy is a perspective that stretches beyond the immediate. Her guiding quote, “Life is short, eternity is long”, offers insight into the way she approaches both service and leadership. It’s a reminder that impact is not measured only in moments, but in legacy.
