Despite the bountiful blessings in the form of showers from above, the RCCPOS was well received, as per usual.
The Health Fair aimed to provide screening for vision issues and testing for blood pressure and blood sugar levels. After President Elitha registered each person, they were handed raffle tickets, free of cost. After a short wait in the seated area, patrons were ushered into the room to access the specialists from Rashmi Mathur Optical, and were examined by qualified professionals. Both young and not-so-young were able to have their visual acuity tested with state of the art equipment, and receive results in print so that they could take the results to their doctors for review.
The two volunteers from the T&T Diabetic Association were kind enough to test everyone and provide their blood pressure and sugar values on paper for them to use as a reference going forward.
We also held the drawing of the raffle for a blood pressure monitor and a blood sugar test kit, and the prizes were well received!
At just after 2pm, Richard and crew ended the successful event with gifts of shirts to the children who were there, and they were happy to give a thumbs up for the photo op! We were encouraged by the turnout and the comments from those in attendance.
Well done, Richard and the crew of RCCPOS!
