The Rotary Club of Central Port-of-Spain ended its eventful 2023 in grand style with the resounding success of Sancoche Fest, held on Saturday 18th November at Goodwill Industries. See some of the visual highlights captured during the event.
Savoring Success at the Sancoche Soup Festival
As another remarkable year of service comes to an end, the spirit of the season has officially begun with Christmas festivities. The Rotary Club of Central Port-of-Spain ended its 2023 fund raising efforts with a newer addition to our annual calendar: Sancoche Fest! We thank the eleven hotels, restaurants and caterers for their donations of tasty soup: Barry's Catering, Chef Chelsea Marie, Christos, Creole Kitchen, Hilton, Hyatt, Malloo's, Mano's, Mariott, Mrs Sherry Mohammed and Sharon Garcia.
Families and friends of Rotary enjoy themselves at our Sancoche Fest, serenaded by our very own Beetham Vibrations Youth Steel Orchestra.
Simmering Soups, Spirited Celebration
Marked as an annual tradition on our Rotary Club's calendar, Sancoche Fest is a culinary celebration that pays homage to the rich variety of local soups cherished in Trinidad and Tobago. Beyond the local soups' assorted choices and flavors, the festival serves a noble purpose: raising funds for the Rotary Foundation and our cherished charities. Named after the well-known and filling homemade type of soup, the event holds a special place in our hearts as it brings Rotary members together in fellowship to serve.

The fun atmosphere was credited by the great performance of the Beetham Youth Steel Orchestra. At the event, Rotarian volunteers continued to support our fundraising initiative with the sale of our 2024 Beauty of Beetham Calendars.
A Symphony of Support
The success of this year's festival was a testament to the Rotarians and the broader community who supported this exciting event. Adding to the ambiance of the soup festival was the stellar performance of our very own Beetham Youth Steel Orchestra, whose music resonated with the joyous atmosphere of the event and our dine-in guests.
