It was an auspicious occasion for the RC CPOS on June 09, 2025 at 11am, in the specially adorned classroom of the Laventille Boys Government Primary School in Success Village, Laventille, when they established the first Early Act Club for that area.
On this highly anticipated morning our Rotary club established at the Laventille Boys Government Primary School, its first EarlyAct club. This club is a club for primary school students structured to nurture the ideals of ‘community service’. Its activities are designed to engage students in character building and preparation for leadership roles through the identification and execution of meaningful projects beneficial to their schools and local communities.
Among the several executive members of the club who supported President Elitha by attending the event today, were AG Valerie and PDG Lara as well as 2 Past Presidents! PP Lennox was our gracious MOC and he too took the opportunity to speak words of encouragement to the ambitious boys sitting quietly in front of him, adorned in their uniforms prior to commencement.
After the singing of the National Anthem, President Elitha gave remarks and recognized the efforts of the Youth Chair, Stephen Wilson in the bring of this dream to fruition. AG Valerie and PDG Lara were assigned the official duty of presenting the certificates to the boys individually, and placing the rotary pin on the lapels of their shirts. With the proud parents in attendance, the 6 young board members were supported by the Principal and their dedicated teacher, both of whom were also given Peace Pins and recognition for their role in bringing these young men to this stage, and who undoubtedly will continue to encourage them as they grow into their roles. They were also admonished by YC Stephen as he remembered his foundation years at this school.
AG Valerie brought regards from our out-going DG, Debbie and added her encouraging sentiments in word and song, prior to thanking the RCCPOS for embarking on this venture and wished the group much success.
