Chokhafest 2026- Doing Good in the World

ChokhaFest Rotary Club of Central Port of Spain
For more than twenty years, Chokhafest has been the flagship fundraising event of the Rotary Club of Central Port of Spain, bringing people together through great food, warm fellowship and a shared commitment to service.
 
This year’s Chokhafest 2026, held on Sunday, May 17 at the Queens Hall Car Park, St. Ann’s, once again reminded everyone why the event continues to be one of the Club’s most loved and successful annual traditions.
 
 
 

From as early as 5:30 am, Rotarians, Rotaractors, family members and volunteers came together with enthusiasm and teamwork to prepare for the morning’s activities. The atmosphere throughout the event reflected the spirit of Rotary fellowship, with members enthusiastically serving, greeting guests and supporting one another in true “Service Above Self” fashion. The spirit of fellowship was truly on display and created the warm, welcoming atmosphere that patrons have come to associate with Chokhafest.

The Club was especially encouraged by the strong turnout from both the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs. Members of the Rotaract Club played an invaluable role in several operational areas, bringing energy, dedication and positivity to the event. Chokhafest also benefited from the support and fellowship of Rotarians from neighbouring clubs, including a particularly strong contingent from the Rotary Club of St. Augustine, whose presence and assistance were sincerely appreciated.

Patron support was outstanding, with more than 1,000 breakfasts distributed during the course of the morning. Guests enjoyed a delicious selection of traditional chokhas served with sada and coconut bake, along with the newly introduced geera chicken option, which proved to be a popular addition to the menu. Patrons appreciated the convenience of the drive-through service, while many others took the opportunity to relax and enjoy breakfast in the beautiful Queens Hall garden patio setting.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising not only the quality of the food and efficiency of the service, but also the friendliness and hospitality shown by members and volunteers. Chokhafest once again celebrated the rich culinary culture of Trinidad and Tobago while highlighting Rotary’s ongoing commitment to community service and outreach.

Proceeds from Chokhafest 2026 will support several impactful programmes and initiatives championed by the Club, including:

  • Beetham Vibrations Youth Steel Orchestra
  • Model United Nations
  • Adopt A Child Programme
  • All-in-One and Each One Teach One Schools (Beetham Gardens)
  • Peace Through Art
  • Garden with Wings
  • Youth Gatekeepers

The continued success of Chokhafest is a reflection of the dedication, teamwork and generosity of everyone involved. The Rotary Club of Central Port of Spain extends heartfelt thanks to all patrons, sponsors, volunteers and members of the Rotary family whose support helped make Chokhafest 2026 another memorable and meaningful success.
